February 11 is the International Day of Women and Girls in Science!
The International Day of Women and Girls in Science is celebrated worldwide on February 11. This holiday was established by the UN General Assembly in December 2015. In this regard, on February 13, 2022, a curatorial hour was held with students of the TP-20-3p group at the Faculty of History and Pedagogy of the M. Auezov UCU. The event was attended by women scientists successfully working in the field of science of the Department of "General History and Museum Business" - Ph.D., Associate Professor M. K. Kukeeva, Ph.D., Associate Professor N. Tazhmukhanova, Ph.D., Associate Professor G. K. Otarbayeva, Ph.D., Associate Professor A. Avizova. The main purpose of the event is to popularize among students the experience of women actively engaged in research activities at the university. The curator of the TP-20-3p group, Yerzhan Dzharkinbaevich Pazilov, congratulated the public on this holiday, introduced the invited guests and briefly dwelt on achievements in the field of science. Then, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Gulzhan Kubeevna Otarbayeva spoke as a speaker and noted that the holiday is aimed at full and equal access of women to science, and ensuring their rights and opportunities. Currently, the proportion of female researchers in Kazakhstan has reached 52%. The speaker: Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, associate professor Kukeeva Mira Kulchimbaevna told how she embarked on the path of science. Associate Professor of the University Avizova Ayman Karaidarovna, using the example of a life path in science, said that science is not only difficult, but also interesting, and invited students who gathered for the event to choose a scientific path. At the end of the event, specially invited female scientists answered the exciting questions of young people who are passionate about science, and shared their scientific experience.
