In order to implement the grant financing project of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the research topic: IRN BR18574180 "History and creative heritage of the Alash intellectual elite of the late nineteenth and first half of the twentieth centuries." PhD, associate professor of the Department of History of Kazakhstan Batyrbekkyzy Gauhar was sent on a scientific trip to work in the archives of Germany (Federal Military Archive the city of Freiburg im Breisgau, the German Federal Archive in Berlin, the Library of the Northeastern Institute in Lüneburg, as well as the State Archive in Lüneburg). A meeting was held at the University of Freiburg with scientists who study the history of the Soviet period, and valuable materials of prisoners of war of the Turkestan Legion were found in the military archive. It was possible to view maps of the military operations of the German army during the First and Second World Wars. This trip was fruitful, as many documents were found that had not previously been introduced into scientific circulation.
